Recent retired Canadian Power Engineer with 40 years experience in operations and maintenance of utility systems for hospitals, pulp & paper manufacturing, electrical utility - thermal energy generation and tire manufacturing industries. Later years heavily focused on energy management, heat recovery and water conservation. Clifford enjoys the challenge of looking for ways to improve equipment, systems and processes with a DIY approach.
His interest in the ocean, boats and in particular sailboats started in Clifford’s late teens. Four years in the commercial fishery as crew aboard 40’ vessels fishing the waters off Nova Scotia ignited his passion for being on the ocean. His introduction to sailing began with windsurfing, followed a Hunter 30T Clifford owned for 14 years. His current sailboat is a 28’ catamaran which he sailed from Nova Scotia to Florida in the 2023 season. Clifford’s DIY approach is applied to his sailboat maintenance and he has extensively up graded both these vessels for cruising. His bareboat chartering experience includes, Saint Lucia - Grenadines, Bahamas, BVI and a canal boat in France.
